Compensation: Competitive base + bonus eligibility + benefits
Work Authorization Notice: At this time, we are unable to provide immigration sponsorship for this position. Candidates must have current, unrestricted authorization to work in the country where the role is based.
About Us
Togetherwork is a $250M recurring revenue SaaS business with more than 33 software applications serving over 12 vertical markets. We exist to help communities, organizations, and businesses thrive by delivering purpose-built software that meets their unique needs.
Many of our products were built over time across distributed teams and evolving standards. As we invest in long-term product quality, we are modernizing our applications to create clearer, more accessible, and more scalable user experiences.
With our headquarters on South Congress in Austin, TX, Togetherwork is entering a major hiring phase—building in-house product and engineering teams, strengthening collaboration, and defining how we design going forward. We value accountability, clarity, and thoughtful execution—and we expect our teams to raise the bar every day.
About This Role
We’re looking for a product designer who takes ownership.
You don’t wait for perfectly defined tickets. You notice friction, ask thoughtful questions, and work with product and engineering to improve real workflows. You’re comfortable operating in evolving environments and can bring clarity to ambiguity.
You care about usability more than decoration. You think in systems and flows, not just screens.
If you’re energized by improving complex software and shaping how a growing organization designs, we want to talk to you.
What You’ll Do
- Own UX for specific products within the Togetherwork portfolio
- Modernize complex or legacy workflows
- Improve clarity, usability, and accessibility
- Review behavioral analytics (e.g., Pendo) to identify friction and opportunity
- Participate in qualitative user interviews to inform workflow improvements
- Reduce UI inconsistency while respecting technical constraints
- Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers from discovery through delivery
- Contribute to and maintain shared design system components, including editing patterns, refining components, and collaborating with other designers to ensure consistency across products where feasible.
You’ll work in an environment where teams are being built, processes are maturing, and standards are still evolving. You’ll collaborate with distributed teammates and play a role in shaping how we operate going forward.
How You’ll Work
A Collaborative Partner to Product and Engineering
You understand implementation realities and design solutions that are scalable and maintainable. You make pragmatic tradeoffs and care about how your work ships.
Systems-Oriented
You identify repeatable interaction patterns and help reduce inconsistency across experiences. You balance product-specific needs with broader portfolio coherence.
Product Minded
You combine qualitative insight and behavioral analytics to inform design decisions. You don’t rely on opinion — you seek evidence.
AI-Enabled
You use AI-assisted workflows to accelerate research, exploration, and iteration. You’re comfortable experimenting with modern prototyping tools and identifying practical applications of AI in product development. We value thoughtful application, not buzzwords.
Accessibility-Minded
You advocate for accessibility improvements and understand core usability and WCAG principles.
What You’ll Bring
Experience
- 3–5 years of product design experience
- Experience shipping features in SaaS or complex workflow-driven software
- Demonstrated collaboration with engineering and product management
- Experience working in ambiguous or evolving environments
- Strong UX thinking beyond visual polish
- Strong communication and facilitation skills across cross-functional groups.
- Experience experimenting with AI tools (e.g., generative UI, AI prototyping, workflow automation) to accelerate exploration, prototype rapidly for alignment, and improve personal or team velocity.
Portfolio Requirements
We are specifically looking for:
- Complex product or SaaS workflows
- Clear problem framing and constraints
- Tradeoffs made in collaboration with engineering or product
- Evidence of shipped work (not speculative redesigns)
- Examples of systems thinking (patterns, reusable components, interaction logic)
- Demonstrated AI-assisted workflows in your process
Why This Role Matters
- Impact: Help modernize complex software experiences used across diverse vertical markets.
- Execution: Translate modernization strategy into scalable, maintainable design work.
- Growth: Develop systems thinking and scalable UX practices within a growing SaaS portfolio.
